Programming is writing code in a logical manner. Many people think that programmers get lot of salary so it is great idea to become one.
The first thing a person does is see which programming language is popular now days and he/she jumps to learn that language.
Then after learning he cannot program by himself.
What is the Problem ,not able to program independently?
The thing person started writing an essay without learning the alphabet.
So what is the correct approach to learning programming?
The first thing in the programming world is to learn :
- C programming. Whether person likes it or not or frets this language is hard. Believe me there is no short cut to programming. I found the hard way after I learn Java first plus all other programming except C and C++. Result :I did not understand much and could not program by myself.
- Learn Basics of C ,Array, Linked list, Pointers etc.
- Practice Programming C using MS Dos.
- Continue above for 2 -3 months. Solve few problems by yourself. For example find out if a number is even or not by making a program in C. Take input using Ms DOS.
- Learn C++. Continue for 6-8 months. Do few projects by yourself. say Library project in C++.
- Learn concepts of OOP in C++.
- Learn what you can do in C++ and what you can't in Java.
- When you understand the basics of C++ then any programming language can be learnt very easily.
- Learn C and C++ in a class 1-5 students not more or from a private teacher.
