Cyber law pertains to laws that handle violations and rights of digital world. There was a time there was no laws and nothing can be done.


Now days email is considered as Evidence.
Cyber crimes are of three categories:
1. Cyber crimes  that against Persons.
2. Cyber crimes that against Property.
3. Cyber crimes that  against Government.
Cyber crimes usually target the following :
  • Computer
  • Computer devices 
  • Networked computer.
The sole aim of cyber crime is making money.  Cyber Criminals are expert in technology and programming.


The types of Cyber Crimes  are :
  • Email Fraud
  • Identity Fraud
  • Theft of financial or card payment data
  • Theft and sale of corporate data.
  • Infringing Copy Right
Cyber criminals may infect a  computer with malware. These malwares may steal data or delete. Important data should be backed up in a portable drive.

A portable drive is  an important drive.

A usual size is 2 TB, that is 2 X 1024 GB.

There might be incidence of  sudden corruption of data . In that case important documents may be  lost worth millions of Dollars.

The laws in place are :
  • Information Act
  • Digital Security Act
These acts are present in many countries  and differ from country to county.

In summary,
Posts made on :
  • Facebook
  • Twitter
against governments will result in penalization of the person who posts.


Things to take care are :
  • Software comes under Copyright Law. A software cannot be used with out permission or copied. Countries having this law will result in great penalization.
An example would be of an Indian company who got penalized with  a lawsuit from Oracle for using pirated cds.
